I’ve been to the acropolis museum!! Not only is it amazing (and reccomend everyone who ever visits Greece to go see it), but it has the same structure the actual ancient Greece acropolis had. Because of that, in almost every stop, we were told “this is how the ancient Greeks would’ve experienced this, if it wasn’t for the pieces that are kept in the British museum :).”
If I remember right (which I might not tbh), one of the motivations for the founding of the acropolis museum was that some British officials maintained that Greece wasn’t a suitable place to display the stolen Greek pieces that Greece had requested to be taken back (specifically the pantheon marbles). The current acropolis museum has a specific gallery for the pantheon marbles that are still, to no one’s surprise, in the British museum.
